The disc, which will arrive on August 30, will follow up 's "10, Days". TOOL guitarist Adam Jones revealed several tantalizing bits of information about "Fear Inoculum" in a new interview with Guitar World , including the number of tracks on the record, the running time and the strange themes behind the LP. The album will sport seven tracks but will run an astounding 80 minutes, with virtually none of the songs adhering to the standard format for a radio single. As for the concept of the disc, Jones said it came to revolve around the number seven. Jones explained: "I took a picture pointing to the number seven while we were recording, and a lot of the riffs Justin [ Chancellor , bassist] and I brought in were in seven. You don't really go, 'I'm going to write a riff in seven! It was really weird! Jones continued: "Then Maynard [ James Keenan , singer] told me about a whole concept he had about the number seven. We were all, like, 'Oh my God! This is too weird!

Also, it's nice that even though they're going with Alex Grey again, it doesn't look like your average Alex Grey piece, doesn't really look like his work at all actually. For me it's the lines that extend to the edges of the artwork, combined with the simplicity of the background. It makes the logo of the band name and title look too separate from the artwork, unlike on Lateralus , where the band name and album title look a little more integrated. I still like the artwork though, it's just not what I expected. I can't wait to see what the CD will look like. I really love the creepy background of the picture, but not that much the fonts they use. It's like some steampunk golden thing It reminds me too much some Metal Prog bands, like Dream Theater.

Fear Inoculum is the fifth studio album by American rock band Tool. It is the band's first album in 13 years, due to creative, personal, and legal issues band members encountered since the release of 10, Days. The album was released to critical acclaim, with reviewers generally agreeing that the band had successfully refined their established sound. The album topped the US Billboard albums chart, their third album in a row to do so, selling over , album-equivalent units. The album topped five other national album charts in its opening week as well. Two songs off the album received Grammy nominations, first single " Fear Inoculum ", for the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song , and album closer " 7empest ", [1] for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance , with the latter winning the award. In , Tool released their fourth studio album, 10, Days. The band was quiet over the next few years, only with Tool's website announcing that guitarist Adam Jones , bassist Justin Chancellor , and drummer Danny Carey were working on instrumental material while Keenan focused his efforts on Puscifer. Outside problems slowed progress on the album over the following years. There's no actual songsā€¦It's still kind of noodles in a big basket.
